[ Character's Age ] : 57, but appears in her early teens
[ Series ] : Hunter x Hunter
[ Canon Point ] : Post-Greed Island arc

[ History ] :
What up

[ Personality ] :
When Biscuit is first encountered in Hunter x Hunter, she comes off as some kawaii desu desu little girl in Greed Island. This is quite far from the truth. Biscuit is a 57 year old Nen user, and she happens to be very skilled at Nen at that. She is intuitive when it comes to fighting and encountering new situations, which is something her years of experience have given her. She's quick on her feet, able to sense people relatively easily, and good at coming up with effective strategies, and she's also able to instruct people in the way of Nen. She's basically the 'old,' wise, skilled mentor figure in Hunter x Hunter. Her Nen type is Transmuter, which, according to a bonus excerpt in the manga, means she is 'whimsical and a liar,' which. Well. Is basically what she is. She's also intelligent and can tell when she's in situations she won't be able to win, which goes back to her having plenty of experience. When she knows she can't win, for instance, she will take the opportunity to learn as much about her opponents' powers as she can before whatever time limit she might have is up.

Biscuit is seemingly mysterious at times in the sense that she doesn't always reveal what she's planning to others. She knows perfectly well what she wants to do, so it doesn't matter if other people don't as long as they follow along, right? This might be frustrating to others, but she really doesn't care much as long as she gets what she wants. As for the 'liar' part, well, Biscuit herself admits that she's been lying through her teeth throughout most of her life. She's not the Kawaii Desu Desu little girl she seems to be. In fact, that appearance is only a result of her Nen abilities. Her real appearance is that of some gigantic muscular woman. She likes being seen as Kawaii Desu rather than big and muscular, so that means? Lying about her appearance. She's also not above lying about her abilities and using her cute looks to manipulate people into doing what she wants them to do. Most times what she wants them to do is give her information or, in the case of Greed Island, cards. Despite her appearance, Biscuit is also quite a bit perverted, staring openly at Hisoka as he bathed in one of the lakes in Greed Island. Because of the fact she lies all the time, Biscuit states that she can usually tell when others are lying. She might not be able to tell why they are lying, she just has a sense that people aren't telling the truth.

One of the other things that describes Biscuit best is greedy. It might be a bit ironic that she's greedy and first encountered on Greed Island, but that's not the point. Just like how she likes cute things and looking cute, Biscuit loves jewels. The shinier the better! In fact, the whole reason she came to Greed Island was to look for the rare gem called Blue Planet. It's not just jewels that catch her attention in this way. Anything particularly rare and impressive can be, by her standards, considered a 'jewel.' Take Killua and Gon's powers, for instance. Biscuit was excited to help train them because their powers were, to her, like gems in the rough. Biscuit can also be cruel at times, mostly in her training. She is the mentor figure, so she is supposed to be tough on Gon and Killua, and tough she is. She works Gon and Killua to the bone, making them travel to a city three times, at least, digging through mountains to get there in order to help them train their Nen. Sleeping with a rock tied to a rope above their head that will fall if they drift off too much? She's perfectly fine with that. You name it, she has probably made Gon and Killua try it.

As I'm continuing on the negatives here, Biscuit is quick to jump to conclusions, be they about people or about what she should do next. This does not happen too often, however, mostly when combined with the fact that she is incredibly easy to irritate if one presses the right buttons. If she's irritated, ideas such as 'try and break up people's friendships' sound perfectly okay with her. She will argue stubbornly and all sorts of things like that that usually fit shounen hero type characters, not kawaii desu little girls. Oh, did I mention how she's stubborn? When she wants to do something, she will do it, no matter what. If she wants other people to be able to do something, as well, she will find a way to make them do it.

All that aside, Biscuit does have other good points besides being the wise mentor figure. Biscuit is loyal to those she befriends. She sticks with Gon and Killua throughout the end of Greed Island, not just as a mentor or in order to get the Blue Planet gem, but because she does like them. After all, she does show up later on during the Chimera Ant arc to help train Gon and Killua once more. If she weren't as loyal as she is, that certainly would not have happened.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
POWERS:
In the Hunter x Hunter world, there's this thing called Nen, which is comparable to Spirit Energy in Yu Yu Hakusho, and basically any other life force sort of ability in anime/manga/games. Biscuit started learning Nen at 17, so she is pretty skilled at it. Biscuit is a Transmuter, so she can change the way she and her aura look. She is a skilled martial artist, can manipulate her aura to write notes and numbers that are only visible with Gyo, and uses her Nen to make herself look like a kawaii desu little girl, rather than the big muscular woman she actually is. When she is in her 'normal' form, for the record, the strength of her punches is significantly stronger than those in her kawaii desu little girl form.

NORMAL (basic) NEN ABILITIES
Ten: Controlling the flow of Nen from the body
Zetsu: Closing the nodes from which Nen flows, effectively cutting off Nen flow and making your appearance invisible to those searching for Nen users.
Ren: Producing a high output of Nen
Hatsu: Special abilities; this is where the category 'Transmuter' comes into effect for Biscuit.

MORE ADVANCED NEN ABILITIES
Shu: Advanced form of Ten; extending one's Nen and infusing it into an object. See: in the manga when Killua and Gon transmitted their Nen into a shovel to make digging easier.
En: Application of Ren and Ten; extending one's Nen to allow one to sense other Nen users in the area.
Ken: Maintaining Ren over the entire body, rather than just a portion of it.
In: The advanced form of Zetsu which allows one to nearly conceal themselves from other people searching for Nen users. Can also be used on Hatsu abilities.
Gyo: Focusing Nen in one specific area of the body to strengthen it, but leaving the rest of the body vulnerable. Most often focused on the eyes to allow Nen users to see hidden things.
Ko: The advanced form of Gyo; Zetsu stops the flow of Nen from the body, and Ko focuses the Nen entirely on a body part. It leaves you very vulnerable, however.
Ryu: The use of Gyo in battle; in other words, adjusting the aura in a certain area in one's body to absorb or block one's opponent's attacks or to strengthen one's attacks while still having defense in another area.

HATSU ABILITY
Biscuit's Hatsu ability is not really suited to combat. Her Hatsu ability is a masseuse conjured out of Nen that will revitalize and refresh people, as well as probably just giving massages. One of the "Magical Etsee"'s abilities, for instance, is the Piano massage, which will give the effect of a full night's sleep in significantly less time.

[ Sample ] :
[Well. This was certainly not going her way, really. All she wanted was a bit of information and a few extra spell cards, and she was having no luck whatsoever in that spell store. All the good, higher-level cards were nowhere to be found! With an angry sigh and perhaps a bit of a pout, Biscuit sat down in front of the spell card store, keeping an eye out for which players seemed the newest and the weakest. Weak players, after all, would be more likely to want to go home, and if they had any cards she could use, well. She had several "Leave" spells she could trade them. It was a perfect plan, really. After a while, one such person just happened to walk past. She could tell based on not only how his Nen felt, but also how dejected and such he looked as he walked out of the spell card store. Inwardly smiling at how well this plan had worked, Biscuit adopted her best innocent little girl act and approached the man.]

Um... Excuse me, sir. I couldn't help but notice that you seem rather upset. If it's because you wanted to return home, well... I have several "Leave" spell cards here. If you have any rare cards worth trading for, I would gladly trade you one.
